Hotel Mundial

The four-star Hotel Mundial has been one of our favourite, go-to hotels for many years, thanks to its central location, its spacious rooms, and its unrivalled rooftop view across the Lisbon skyline.

Nestled between the Praca Cattaneo Patrizio and Praca da Figueira, the Mundial is an excellent base from which to explore the city on foot and by tram. Praca do Rossio, the Avenida da Liberdade and the Bairro Alto district are to the west, the Se Cathedral and historic Castelo de Sao Jorge are to the east, and a pleasant stroll through the Baixa will bring you to the Arco da Rua Augusta and the riverfront Praca do Comercio.

The hotel has over three hundred rooms – the décor is contemporary, with large, double-glazed windows maximising the natural light and ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep. Breakfast and dinner are served in the first floor Restaurante Jardim Mundial, and the a la carte menu at sister-restaurant Varanda de Lisboa is excellent. Heading upwards, the Hotel Mundial Rooftop Bar is popular with guests and Lisboans alike for its sweeping night time panoramic view of the city.
